CS Saint-Laurent Denies Involvement in CPL Expansion Negotiations
Montreal, QC – In response to recent media reports suggesting that CS Saint-Laurent was involved in negotiations to join the Canadian Premier League (CPL), we wish to categorically deny the claims made regarding our club’s participation in such discussions.
CS Saint-Laurent has not been part of any formal or informal talks with the CPL regarding an expansion into the league, nor have we been involved in any negotiations with investor groups concerning this matter. Our focus remains solely on the development of our semi-professional team and continuing to grow the sport within our community.
The information reported, which implies that both CS Saint-Laurent and a group of North American investors backed out of an expansion due to increased fees, is incorrect. We have always maintained an open and positive relationship with Canadian soccer organizations and continue to work collaboratively to support the sport at all levels.
Any discussions between the CPL and external investor groups have occurred independently of CS Saint-Laurent, and we have not been involved in any related decisions.
We remain committed to fostering talent and growth at the grassroots and semi-professional levels, and we look forward to continuing to build a strong future for our club.
