Montreal, QC** – In light of recent speculation reported by Josh Healey of Wanderers Notebook regarding CS Saint-Laurent’s potential expansion into the Canadian Premier League (CPL), the club wishes to address these rumors and provide clarity to our supporters and the public.
Mateo, General Manager of CS Saint-Laurent, shares the following statement:
“We are honored and excited by the recent interest and speculation regarding our potential expansion into the Canadian Premier League. While we appreciate the enthusiasm, it is important to emphasize that any potential changes are purely speculative at this point.
Our primary focus remains on the continued growth and success of our team within Ligue1 Québec. We are committed to our current objectives, including developing top-tier talent, fostering a professional environment, and building a strong, passionate fan base here in Saint-Laurent.
We appreciate the recognition from the CPL and their acknowledgment of the success of League1 clubs across Canada. The possibility of joining the CPL in the future is an exciting prospect, but we understand that it requires careful consideration and the right conditions for our organization to thrive. This includes ensuring a committed ownership group and securing a viable stadium solution, among other factors.
At this time, no formal decisions have been made, and we remain dedicated to our mission in Ligue1 Québec. We will continue to keep our supporters and the community informed of any significant developments.
Thank you for your continued support of CS Saint-Laurent. Together, we will strive for excellence both on and off the field.”
